I went up to Shrine Pass today for a bit of late season edible hunting.
First, a scenery shot of nearby Dillon Reservoir:

This was the main edible I found - Boletus pinicola, a species that is very similar to B. edulis and just as edible.

Amanita muscaria happens to be an indicator species for the boletes, so it was all over the place. Also, there were requests in the last photo thread for some Amanita shots. Here ya go:

One of the weirder mushrooms around, these are Thaxterogaster pingue, a secotioid version of Cortinarius. They're not edible, at least for people. The cap never opens up. The gills inside the cap look like they've been wadded up.

The purple corals were up in incredible numbers. In some areas you couldn't walk without stepping on some of them. The little mushrooms were Cortinarius.

Finally, a mushroom that's pretty rare here. These are Polyozellus multiplex, Blue Chanterelles. They're delicious.

Happy mushrooming!

The scenery there is awesome.. reminds me of the time I visited out west for a few weeks. Everything is pretty much flat here and the sky is never really that clear/crisp. Nice finds. Cool to see that you have some edibles in the mix. I haven't really been able to find any of my regular edibles lately. I also really like the picture with the Corts and coral growing together. We just got hit with hurricane like weather for the past couple of days around here. Maybe in al of that I will be able to find something.
