A few monotub questions

I have been reading alot about monotubs and I like the fact that they are low matinence. I would like to set one up but there were a few questions that I couldn't find the answer to in the material I have read. 1)Do monotubs only produce 1 flush? 2)What else can be used besides poo? 3)I currently have 24 jars almost fully colonized, can I turn these into a monotub? If so how? Could I just do it like a giant casing with a layer of 50/50 on the bottom then all the crumbled brf jars followed by a casing layer? Would that work? Any input is greatly appreciated Thanks.

i can answer 1 and 2.
(1) Monotubs prodece several flushes (2) Compost is a good manure substitute but you could also use coco coir and perhaps straw
i guess you could do as you suggested in 3 but i would rather use it for spawn.
I hope your not frightened away from the thought of using manure as substrate because "its simply the best, dun dun dun dun!"

Your thinking ahead of yourself here my friend. It's in your best interest not to combine all your jars. Ever hear...."don't put your eggs all in one basket"? 24 jars in one casing certainly can be done with great results. But sounds like you have limited time in this hobby. I'd start of with some bread pans...dispo. type from the dollar store. Save yourself some jars. That is unless you don't mind failing all at once. Not trying to swing bad karma your way....just looking out for ya.

i would say if you have limited time then a monotub is the best, no upkeep. i am trying to learn all the nuances to monotubism
