Without a doubt, Social Security and Medicare. Everyone that is in the USA, and is under 35 years of age, does not see how dicked up these programs are doing financially.
It has always been my contention that Washington's dirty little secret is that they steal from the young to give to the old........

I don't think so. We have the technology and the knowledge right now to design buildings in such a way that they don't need heating or air conditioning. With smart building design, heating and air condition can become obsolete. The problem, of course, is that most people have to live and work in old buildings with inefficient design.

Health Care wins hands down.
healthcare costs could be reduced to a fraction of what they currently are if people took better care of themselves and didn't expect to live forever.
Its a here and now problem which is effected by all other problems we face.
i haven't been to a doctor for anything other than a state required physical in more than 15 years. the only way healthcare affects me is the medicare tax on my paycheck.

You have intrigued me, so please elaborate.

Well, I can't explain exactly how the architecture works, but I've been reading about it in this book called Natural Capitalism, by Paul Hawken and Amory Lovins. Basically, certain design features in a building or house can take advantage of the sun and the terrain so as to keep the house at a constant temperature. The Rocky Mountain Institute, of which Amory Lovins is president, has a headquarters high up in the Colorado Rockies which has no heating or air conditioning system, yet they manage to grow bananas indoors.

Sounds intriguing.
I look forward to the day when I am able to buy some land and afford to plan my own house, exactly as I want it to be. It will incorporate innovative sources of energy - it'd be off the grid.
Of course, to me, burning wood is innovative. My parents built a log home and when we poured the cement for the basement floor, we installed the tubing for heat that will rise from the floor (not sure what its called). I don't think he's put together the boiler he needs to use it, but there are two log stoves in the house. Of course, this is in Wisconsin, and we are surrounded by wooded hills, so the resource is available. It requires a little bit of effort, of course, but it'll develop a person, and it is one hell of a way to provide warmth for yourself!
 Peace.
