Iam new at this. And i was wondering what strain i should start with first. I wanted to make about 11 cakes using vermiculite and rice flour. Will this be rather hard to do. I have a pretty big growing space and about 300 dollars to spend. If that helps you answer my question better. Also what iteams will i need to help me grow efficently and smart "Shroomz for days" -Apshroomgrower

Fuck fuck fuck... I just typed up this big thing and then my comp froze... Preface: Read this forum ! You don't have experiance but you can read others experiance and can learn of mistakes before you make them from others...this forum is priceless.. First: read a tek, I would suggest PF Tek under shroomery or else where on the net. Read it over and over till you understand it. Second: get spores (mushrooms seed :') ) You can legally buy and sell spores in the US. Several places that sell spores check the vendors Forum for spore places. Spores come in two forums Syringes or prints ...for beginner I suggest getting Syringe just easy and clean and hard to fuck up with syringe, prints are ussually alittle tricky for n00bs. from your post it looks like your going to use the PF tek with the B.R.F/verm 1/2 pint cakes. These is what I started with and prolly the easiest and most successfull method for n00bs. The cakes are not that hard to make: Some suggestions: PF tek says its optional to bake the substrates(BRF/Verm) I would say if you want a bunch of green cakes that you have to throw out I would do what it says bake them before you mix them and boil them. Another thing is if you want the grow time to speed up you should put your jars in a space that is 84 degrees(which means its 86 degrees inside the cakes perfect temp for growth) That really speeds your growth time up. Another thing to add is when you birth your cakes put them in a freezer 24 hours before you birth them it gives them a nice shock to start growth.. also it sounds like from your money you are willing to speed that you want to have a big crop the first time.... if that is the case I would look into caseing... I aint knocking the birthing of cakes I did that my first time...I am just saying that you ussually get really good crops through a casing method.....you can find these at the shroomery (its the same as the PF tek except instead of birthing them in your terrirum u put them in a cases of ussually 50/50 soil verm or what not. Read up on that it really helps. If you are interested in learning bout mushrooms and like reading you should buy a book but its not needed. Grow space doesn't really matter in fact my Grow room if thats what you wanna call it is a tuberware container bout 1.5 feet high 2 feet wide and 1 foot deep I aint sure what else I can say I aint sure what you were looking for I hope I helped if you got my questions feel free to ask. P.S. the only other thing I might add is Strain I would do Ecuador ...trips are amazeing Great crops and very potent... If you are looking for information bout the different strains try sporeworks they have a great description for each major strain and they are pretty good...although the syringes are alittle expensive. Dat all...peace
