^ Cool, let me know if you rate it please, Quantum- sounds like I might pick that up!
I liked it a lot. It's a much more balanced look at Crowley, by someone who knew him for a number of years, than most books on the man, especially ones by people like Symonds, and dozens of other haters. Perdurabo, by Kaczinski, is the best biography I've read about Crowley, and it's nice because there is very little emotion involved between the author and his subject, as there is to some extent with Regardie. But he is for the most part fair, balanced and kind, and the content is fascinating. The book is interspersed with a slew of delightful prose and poetry excerpts from Crowley's writings, and that was great.
The only thing I didn't like was that Regardie attempts at times to engage in both Freudian and Jungian psychoanalysis of Crowley, and I found it over-simple and hokey. Some of these analyses, even though Regardie was a psychologist, make the subject seem like an automaton, which is unrealistic and unfair imo.
But you can't go wrong by reading it, it's a great book.
Up next for me: Deadeye Dick by Kurt Vonnegut

Putting off Heaven and Hell, and The Doors of Perception is less than 70 pages. So now I'm turning to another Pendergast novel by Preston & Child: Crooked River. Should be fun.
