Finished the last Dune book written by Frank Herbert.. That was a seriously great series.
I've been so lucky to discover so many amazing books over the past couple of years with very few duds in between. I think I have this thread and you guys to largely thank for that, so thank you.
Tomorrow I shall begin:

The 4th book had a good enough ending that I wasn't planning on continuing the series since I heard the ones written by his son weren't very good, but please do let me know if you actually find them worth reading because I'd love to see it come to an actual end.

I am pretty sure Frank wrote the first 6 of the series and then his son did fine additional ones. Am I right in thinking this?

Oh shit you're right
My friend told me it was 4 and I just never checked because I didn't want to spoiler myself. I love you right now.
Also just checked and by the title it looks like book 6 is going to be largely about the Bene Gesserit

When I first started the series I was under the impression he only wrote three and the rest were from his son, so I was excited as well when I found out he wrote 6 ha.

I just went and got the last 2. DON'T READ THE BACK OF #6 until you finish 5.
Also picked up 2 other books that I've been wanting for a long time and am extremely excited to read.

Just finished The Anvil of the World by Kage Baker.
Great book, and a pretty long read! Thought-provoking well-written story about race divisions, fate and destinity. I enjoyed the 1700-1800 French Fantasy theme thoroughout the book with the subtle use of magic.
Very cool
My next book is The Buried Pryamid, another Tor book. Very excited
