I'll get around to that some time. I read that other book of his, Neon Bible, which he wrote when he was sixteen or so. Yawn.

c of D cant be compared with neon bible. i mean, the guy was 16 when he wrote neon bible, and it shows. C of D is a great read, though. As for the illuminatus! trilogy, also good good fun. Check out the Shrodinger's Cat trilogy (also by RAW) for more entertainment.

currently i'm reading Wilhelm Meister by Goethe. Was reading a bunch of essays by Bahktin on the Chronotope of Epic & Novel, and in one essay about the chronotope of the bildungsroman and it's influence on literature as a whole, he kept commenting on Wilhelm Meister as the first bildungsroman. previously i had only read the Sorrows of Young Werther and Faust by Goethe, so I figured I'd give this one a go - so far it is a great read, and Goethe's genius really shines through.

for "fun" i just finished Jitterbug Perfume (Tom Robbins) which makes it every novel of his that i've read. Also just finished a collection of short stories of Gogol, and "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" (not sure who it is by, the guy was on NPR talking about it and it sounded interesting but i thought it was a predictable piece of fluff.) So now focusing on the Goethe, more Bahktin, and some essays about Crying of Lot 49 (for the same class i'm reading the Bahktin)

Just finished The Only Living Witness and Conversations With A Killer; both books are about Ted Bundy (the latter is solely comprised of interviews) and written by Stephen G. Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth. Excellent, excellent stuff for fans of true crime.

At the moment, I'm reading the last thirty pages of Justine by Marquis de Sade which, as I expected, was deliciously evil.

Later today I'm going to the bookstore to pick up Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk (I'm trusting zappaisgod's judgment on this one) and Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis.

A little late for a reply, but I'm right in the middle of Don Quixote.

Hilarious.

Endymion by Dan Simmons (third book in the four part Hyperion series). I'm halfway through and rapidly approaching the end. This entire series is one of those rare page turners that you can hardly put down; I'm completely immersed in it. Awesome stuff :awesome:
