Siddhartha - Herman Hesse(my favorite book of all time no doubt...can't wait to read again)
Currently 10 pages into Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
Very nice! I read both of those last year for a Philosophy class and loved them both. It's unfortunate that Achebe has gone into the great ether, but I think his message and his legacy will love on. Siddhartha was an earth-shattering read. Blew my mind to pieces and reconstructed them. very nice selections I'm about to try out some Conrad with "Heart of Darkness", since I've been a fan of "Apocalypse Now" for quite some time and would like to see where at least part of the impetus behind the film came from.

Ayn Rand The Fountainhead
I really love it so far, her style and personal philosophy is very eloquent, bold and striking but with enough femininity to make you fall in love in the romance aspect and really just the whole idea the book is based on. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for some inspiration or just a well written novel.

I'm a big Hunter S Thompson fan and since I hadn't yet read The Rum Diary it only seemed fitting that I cracked it open the other night. So far so good.

First time reading it?
I'm currently reading Demain j'aurai vingt ans (Tomorrow I Will Be Twenty) in its original French, by up-and-coming Congolese author Alain Mabanckou. Really enjoying it.
My most enjoyed recent reads: Fathers and Suns by Ivan Turgenev Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Snow by Orhan Pamuk The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz Seasons of Migration to the North by Tayip Saleh The Enchantress of Florence by Salman Rushdie

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Halfway through Variable Star, Robert A. Heinlein and Spider Robinson. Love it. Don't mind that it's one of those kinds of works at all.
