Just finished Fahrenheit 451 (Bradbury) and Mort (Pratchett). And now, heh, I'm reading a tank girl comic collection.

Was about to grab that off my shelf for a re-read but saw my TG collection. Maybe I'll nab the Vonnegut next. Or maybe Still Life With Woodpecker if I've unpacked that box of books yet.

I saw that at the library today, I opted for Slaughterhouse Five, havent really gotten into yet though, but I do love Vonneguts work.
Yeah I wound up by-passing that shelf entirely and I'm now reading DH Lawrence's The Lost Girl

Juggling a bunch of books now, not only DH Lawrence's The Lost Girl but also Steinbeck's The Winter of Our Discontent as well as a couple technical books. Finished the Tank Girl collection at least, hah!

Illium by Dan Simmons. Probably one of the best American authors alive. The epic scale and broad range of his writing ability, not to mention the facility with which he does it, is staggering.

I used to read books like this, but have since gotten out of them. I used to read Forgotten Realm books though. I'd suggest checking them out. The Drizzt Du'Urden books are pretty sweet.
I think the first six or so of the DL books (by weiss & hickman) are probably some of the best fantasy books that came out of all the TSR worlds. The Drizzt series isn't bad, but he's a bit much to swallow sometimes, his character is not always very believable.
More currently, The Return of the Archwizards series is pretty good.

If you want a good, serious, fantasy series then check out Stephen R. Donaldson's The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. It's epic (7 books with 2 more planned) and extremely well written.

Just finished The Terror by Dan Simmons. Next is either The Crook Factory by Simmons or Wolves of the Calla by SK. I'm also reading a veritable stack of tech books atm.

I'm still trying to find the electric acid kool-aid test by wolfe and anything by bukowski... no luck so far (I generally sift through used bookstores cuz I'm a cheap bastard).

Yeah, I love the smell of books. Though this one time, a guy loaned me a book, and I immediately cracked it open and took a sniff. Instead of the usual heady aroma of literature, my nasal passageways were inundated with the gray smell of stale cigarette smoke. It permeated each page like an invisible ink, broadcasting subliminal messages of death and cancer.

I wish I had more focus, I could probably write something of passable readability.

Not your line, mine.
As long as you wash your hands before it's my turn, sure!
On a more topicy note, I found my copy of Naked Lunch.. time to read it all the way through finally (I had lost it previously).
