A collection of mushrooms found in my backyard (Pics)!
    #6007962 - 08/29/06 11:32 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

I'm just sharing these beautiful pictures of some very interesting fungi with you, not necessarily asking for identification but you're more than welcome to!

Habitat: Central FLA, backyard in the lawn/under trees

I want to say Russula just by memory, I'm probably way off.

I thought these little guys were amazing (some type of Amanita *warts*) ?

This group was under my mother's garden bush:

This one was growing in the center of my yard near a tree stump, some type of Amanita:

This one sprouted yesterday:

Here's a better shot of the stem:

Growing under a tree in the backyard:

This one was completely white - aside from the dirt:

Strange pair , once again I was thinking the brown is an Amanita:

This one was found inches away...

No idea what this one is:

and the stem...

Classic LBM - stipe hidden by weeds:

No idea what these are - there were tons within a few feet of each other:

Can any Identify this little guy?

the gills:

and the cap:

My friend brought this over yesterday, he found it in someones backyard while mowing the lawn. ID?

Ever since my experiences with tripping I've been fascinated by mushrooms. I'm starting to take up a new hobby of hunting these guys. It's fun.  :mushroom2:

Thanks! It helps to have a mom that loves the enviroment, hell she tripped when she was young. We don't use any chemicals in our yard period.

EDIT: Damnit meant to put this in Mushroom Hunting, can any mods help me out . Sorry guys.

Nice pics.

The first one does not look like a Russula. Mushrooms that have tubes/pores instead of gills are usually referred to as Boletes. You might also confuse them for Polypores, but actually it's very easy to tell Boletes and Polypores apart.

The second one is very interesting looking. It would be nice to be able to see the bottom. Were the gills attached?

The orange one looks interesting. I'd have picked and spore printed that one.

This one (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/Mook-Pk/P1010004.jpg) kind of looks like a dried up Laccaria - that is just a guess though. Pretty sure that I have some very dry/old Laccarias in my photo gallery somewhere that I picked in winter. Will look for it later.

The last one looks like something from the Lepiota group. (check from green gills/spores which would indicate C. molybdites)

Zenthor - Actually, my moms boyfriend gives me his Digital Camera's after he buys new ones. This particular camera isn't even that great (old model) but it does take excellent pictures on the right setting I'll give you that.

*EDIT* - Olympus D-460 ZOOM 1.3 Megapixels (Camedia)

Eris - When my mom first pointed that one out I thought Bolete, idk what changed my mind to Russula. I'm pretty sure the gills were indeed attached. I took some pictures of the same mushrooms yesterday, after they were dried it's amazing how different they look. Thanks for the ID help as well.

I wasn't too considered with Identification, just taking some cool photos to share with everyone. Ernesto is about to hit us, I'll make sure to take some pictures of this heavy rainfall both in my backyard and the active fields .

Yea Ernesto will be hitting us here in Central Florida tomorrow. Hopefully some spores got carried from other places and over here to Florida, though a long shot, hey it could happen.

DarkSideMoon, you might want to invest in a field identification guide.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.
