Problems with WBS jars

My jars dont seem to be turning white fast enough. There is clearly germination in the jars in some spots but it is taking a long time to spread out and fill out the entire jar. The temps vary from 85 up and down a little bit but nothing out of the norm of my air conditioner.
they are roughly two weeks old and i pc'd them and inoculated with roughly 5cc's of liquid culture (water/honey).

with WBS you're gonna want to shake your jars to help spread colonization. Once you see it's 10-20% colonized give it a good shaking.
Do this again at 50-60%. And again if you want later down the line.
Don't shake anymore than necessary.

Once they are 10 to 15, even 20% (as above). Shake them. A day or so later they should look as below.
Not to many days later, they should look as below.
Then a day or so later as below.

please don't do this.
listen to Tippinthru.
shake only ONCE at 20-30% or so. not again until you are ready for spawning.

Thank you Tippinthru,
Just for taking so much time to answer our newb questions. With all my searching, your EYE lets me know when you've been helping and you have been helping tons of people directly and indirectly thru the search feature.
Thanks!

There's lots of variables that change how fast a jar will colonize. You need to watch moisture in the jar and gas exchange along with maintaining the proper incubation temps. Of course genetics play a huge role in the process.
This is the WBS process I use for making spawn and it works great for me. (Everyone has there own preferred method.)
>Soak your WBS for 24 hours at room temp and remove sunflower seeds. (You don't have to remove the sunflower seeds but I like too because they don't colonize very well and it only takes a second to get rid of them. Just fill the bucket up with water then give it a good stir. Most of the sunflower seeds will float to the top and you can just pour them off into a strainer let them dry and feed them to the birds.) >Strain until not a drop will drip from it even when you give it a hard shake. >Use a polyfill wad as a filter in a 3/8" hole for your jar lids. >Incubate at 84 degrees and gently shake at about 25% colonization then leave the jars.
As far as genetics go there are alot of options but what I like to do is this. >start from a multispore inoculation >find your fastest growing jar and do a grain to grain transfer with it to start your next batch.
