When to use Polyfilters

teks say that the use of polyfill filters is considered mandatory when using grains for your substrate, but do they help speed colonization with others as well (such as the brf\verm mix)? since they are so easy to make would it be worth the time for one use them on all of the jars that one does?

I cant see why not. there is definatly no time required in these.
you can stuff 5 lids with the polyfil filters in about 2 minutes
