pasturize Poo Jars

If Swim were to grind up horse poo (soaks and strains it) and fill up some Quart jars, would it be possible to Pasteurize the poo following the same lay out as Roadkill explains inHorse Poo Tek OR Agar explains in Doin' da h/poo
Would Swim then let it simmer between 160 to 175 degrees for 30-40 minutes (as in Roadkill's tek) or more like 2 hours (as in Agar's tek) ....that's how Swim always did it.
So if done right, is it possible for Swim to pasteurize the soaked ground up poo in jars INSTEAD of the pillow case/oven bag? When swim is ready to do his Grain to Poo, he will empty his poo jars into his pan/tub and do the transfer. Swim thinks that this is alittle cleaner than having a bag full of s**t.
One thing he worries about is that the jars (full of damp pasteurized poo) might grow some unwanted organisms if left to sit too long before the Grain to Poo transfer. Might this be avoided by putting a tyvek filter on the jar to allow gas exchange?
Any info/comments welcome, Swim is an understanding person. He just seeks a easy storage solution for his pasteurized poo!

Here is a way of Pasturizing your Jars using your Pressure cooker
Quote from RogerRabbit
"It's very easy to use your PC to pasteurize in quart jars. Load your field capacity casing material or compost/manure into quart jars and place in the PC. Fill with COLD water 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up the jars. Place the jars in your PC or other large covered pot with COLD water Cover and turn on the stove. Do not place the weight on your pc. Leave the vent open. Allow the water to come to a boil where you can feel steam escaping from the vent hole. Allow steam to escape for five minutes, but no longer. Shut off the stove and leave the PC alone for 1/2 an hour. Then repeat the process...bring it back up to a boil. Allow steam to escape for five minutes, but no longer. Shut off the stove and leave the PC alone for 2 hours. At that time, you can remove the jars and they'll be just right. I've used this tek for years, and the interior of the jars will reach 150F for an hour, but never exceed 170F"
I used it just today !

If you have a really thick PC or cast iron kettle, the second boil is unnecessary. The best thing to do when using that tek the first time is to get a meat thermometer and monitor the manure/compost temperature in the center of the jars. Try to get the temperature to above 140F for at least an hour, but no longer than two hours, and try not to let the temperature exceed 170F. With a $3 meat thermometer available at any grocery store, you can adjust the above times to suit your individual situation. RR

Now would this process be the same as Agar's and Roadkill's Teks that I linked above, with the exception that the poo will be in the jars instead of the bags? Swim will will be doing a grain-to-poo transfer with the poo he pasteurize in this tek for his Cubes. Thanks

Not really. If you're going to pasteurize in jars, you have to get the manure to field moisture capacity before you fill the jars. Then, just follow the instructions above. It's less mess than using a pillow case in my experience. It also keeps ya out of trouble with the woman of the house. RR

How come no one uses the oven bag tek? Way less work and I've never had any problems with it...

Thanks again RR!
MycoCat, I love the oven bag tek. I use Agar's Tek I posed above. It's alot less messy than the pillow case tek (which works great too for what it's supposed to do). I look for a way to pasteurize the poo in jars in this tread to 1) be alittle less messy. 2) to have my unused pasteurized poo in an easier to store container.
Turns out its just as it seems! This forum is here to help us NOT to have to go through that trial-and-error step if possible! Thanks again ShroomMates! PS
