I would reccomend:

The Book (Against the Taboo of Knowing who you are) by Alan Watts

Irrational Man by William Barrett

Answer to Job by Jung

Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche

There are probably others, and I'm a huge existentialist, but hey, that's my $.02

--------------------
The story goes, or the way that I was told
There was a king that always felt too high and then he fell too low
And so he called all the wise men to the hall
And begged them for a gift to end the rises and the falls
But here’s the thing, they came back with a ring
It was simple and was plainly unbefitting of a king
Engraved in black, it had no front or back
But there were words around the band that said
Just know: This Too Shall Pass

anything by jeremy narby
im serious, he blows me away to this day just as much as mckenna

get his book DNA and the origins of knowledge, and his followup intelligence in nature, both are ASTOUNDING. the way he writes, the similarities he makes between shamanism and science that our own scientists and researchers have failed to even come close to realizing. he takes ayahusca with tribes in the jungle, its a fuckin fascinating book and hes such a talented writer. look him up

it really depends on what ur interested in. i personally like reading up on new advancements in science (theres some far out shit out there today). if ur interested in this kind of stuff i suggest "the quantum brain" by jeffrey satinover and yeah like shroomie said, jeremy narby is brilliant.

Well... The Four Agreements is a Toltec Indian self-realization book. I'd goto the book store and read it while you're there. only ~120pages.

The Tao Te Ching
~80pages/stanzas

very interesting way to look at things

If ya don't get the book which is ~$7
http://www.wam.umd.edu/~stwright/rel/tao/TaoTeChing.html

Now if you have quite the vocabulary.

The Life of Reason by George Santayana
It'll blow your mind. My 2nd time reading it and I'm still picking up new stuff.

The best way to live
is to be like water
For water benefits all things
and goes against none of them
It provides for all people
and even cleanses those places
a man is loath to go
In this way it is just like Tao        ~Daodejing

Robert Anton Wilson's Prometheus Rising is a good place to start. Then go for Shrodinger's Cat Trilogy.
