sorry if that is an incorrect term - its where someone takes an image of a spore print from under a microscope :wink:

Sony Mavica FD85. Its not a great camera but you can just hold it up to the objective and take pictures. Its adequate for webpages and uses floppy disks as media. One thing I don't like is the lack of a manual focus. When using outdoors in macro mode it tends to autofocus on the background and you have to keep changing positions until it locks on the object you want in focus. Unfortunately, sometimes that means an inferior angle and a less pleasing picture.

I have an Intel QX3 digital microscope. It goes up to 200X, but the images are netcam quality. They sell for $80.

I think they make great toys for amateur mycologists.

cool. I have my eyes on the VideoLabs cameras. Cheapest one with the USB Adapter and software is about $450. Saving up.
