Dark blue pigment...?

Earlier today I removed some aborts growing on the side of the cake. Right next to the aborts that were removed, there was a very healthy looking pin taking in nutrients and growing at a pretty rapid pace. Well, as soon as I removed the aborts, a couple of hours later there is a dark blue pigment on the side of the healthy pin...
....is this normal? Should I worry about this? Any feedback appreciated...
Peace!
P.S. I used a knife to remove the aborts...

Odds are you touched the pin itself, this is what we call bruising.........during your upkeep you may of accidently disloged part of the pin's mycelial network, causing it to blue suddenly from lack of moisture uptake, and perhaps become a future abort, perhaps not.......................Next time wait until after the flush is complete and before pins re-emerge to clean off aborts.
