hey fellow shroomers..i live right by a cow farm in rochester new york. now i have shroomed many times but have never had the pleasure of hunting for them. i know its a long shot but the weather here has been pretty ideal for shrooms this summer. now i was just wondering if anyone thinks it would be possible to stumble apon some actives here in rochester new york. every time i pass this farm and see all the cows everywhere it makes me want to go look soo bad but i don't have much hope.. does anyone think it is possible, or has anyone found actives in new york anywhere. your help and advice will be very appreciated.. keep trippin

Be sure to get permission from the farmer. I've heard that most farmers are cool, so it's better safe then sorry. I remember not too long ago a dude on here go shot with a salt round. Painful as hell but could have been a LOT worse.

I don't think you'll have any luck. Cubies are a southern shroom. You should be looking for Panaeolus subbalteatus. I think some people in upstate NY may have found libs in the fall before, so your cowfield may come in handy then. Good luck.

Psilocybe caerulipes (wood lover)
Psilocybe silvatica (wood lover)
Psilocybe semilanceata (nutrient-rich, grassy soil)


Others active, not worth consuming, but could be fun to hunt:

Panaeolus papillionaceus
Conocybe cyanopus
Gymnopilus luteofolius
Gymnopilus validipes
