heres what we found around the perimeter of about a 5 acre field. the largest weighed in at about 50 grams. total harvest, about 500 grams.

I live in covington, but my field is a biut north. there are no salt licks, I hear the excess salt in the animal's diet absorbs moisture in the dung and prevents mushrooms from growing. There are producing fields everywhere in south LA, you just need to find a field that has cows that eat hay, not store bought feed., and also have no salt lick things...
Wait untill a day or two after decent rains, even if it is still raining. Look on older dung piles, and you'll find them... Fields with treelines help, like look around trees.
Sorry if that was a bit of rambling but you should make some good use of it...

The truth of the matter is that the cubes you find way up there, way up north up by you Louisiannaers...how do i put it softly...well, your cubes are all mucky.
Maybe if you can trudge your way through enough flooded areas of cow piss, you might be lucky enough to find a decent cube or two, and thats during the better part of the season. Otherwise, youll just be slurping down a big gooy mess of wet shrooms. It just gets way too hot up there by you. Your Shrooms are about 99% waterlogged mess and 35% bugs and larvae..real messy situation if you ask me.

There you go being a prick again. Sick, nasty? Pherhaps a bit dirty, becuase those werent brushed off and prettied up due to something called "personal preference", and they were a bit roughed up from being in a paper bag while I went back through the woods in the dark. The pictures are very dark and rather poor quality, and I will try to do better with the pictures next time. It is hard to notice in the picture do to the flash of the camera, but the deep golden shades of the two largest of the mushrooms being held, cap and stipe, are very pleasing to me compared to many of the other cubes I have had experience with in the past. It is one of the two cubensis "strains" I find commonly. I have searched the forums and viewed a few pics of your findings, I feel I would have no problem matching you mushrooms in quality and quantity.
Please quit trying to act like you are such a master, and place me on the level of newbie. You may be well respected on these boards, but I am not going to allow you to shit talk me. You obviously have little experience picking mushrooms in the state of LA, and it also appears you have misjudged the climate here as welll. In all acctuality, there is quite a bit of warm-yet-not-overly-hot sun here this time of year, and not too much rain. Also, you said something in one of your posts about it getting way to hot UP HERE. Wouldn't logic dictate that it would be hotter in down south in Florida? Quit trying to make me and LA look bad, becuase you aren't doing a good job presenting any relevent FACTS, just your own opinions as to the condition of LA mushrooms. Next time I will be sure to keep any of the caps from breaking the bag, and brush the mushrooms of with a mushroom brush.

Oh by the way, in your guide you mention things about cubies being found growing in puddles of water. I have never seen this in LA, but if its happening in florida as you claim, I think you would have more nasty ass water logged mushrooms.

whatever you say...Its always clearly illustrated that Louisiana is much hotter than florida*sarcasam*...I am on weather.com looking a record temps for both My area and Gainesville, Florida. Florida is a bit hotter on a day to day average high temp.

compare the high temperatures asnd you will notice that FL is in fact slightly hottter than LA on average. On the low temps LA may be even with FLA, lower than FLA or even a degree or two higher than FLA, but low temp really isn't what we care about, its the high. Its funny though, how in the summer months Florida gets more rain, but LA gets it more durring the winter.
GGreatone234, my offer for a competition still holds, as long as it can be kept friendly. I am a very fair and to the point person, so if you want to use words of negativity against my state and myself, I will surely display that my cubes are as good as yours, and that your "few reasons you are better than me" do not exist. I live in south louisiana also, and when I use to find shrooms down here they had some that were beautiful and some that were ugly as hell. I could care less of what they looked like b/c in the end they all ended up being boiled down to a big mass of black/purple syrup looking goop which produced the one thing everyone picks shrooms for (ugly or not) TRIPPING.

my friend i fear you are mistaken about my beautiful state. i live 30 miles north of new orleans(lowest part of the state) and even after 1-2 inches of rain in one night the 3 fields of active, healthy cubes within 15 miles of my house are producing off the hook. please dont feel the need to bash on louisiana because the nation regards us as the asshole of the USA, if youd like id have you down here to see just how great it can be.

I live in South Carolina and have a field that cant put all of yours to shame. its owned by a millionaire shroom head who only has cows so he can pick mushrooms they are fed alsmot 100% grain (*whoever said hay is better, you are wrong, you want grain fed cows). ive found shrooms in february up here

Fuck yeah man i wish i had access to some of those massive fields they got down here around college station...
They got HUNDREDS of cows everywhere plus its always fucking warm here, we really dont have too much of a winter

no he owns about 30 cows, on 15 acres. he doesnt sell the cows for livestock or anything, and hes had cows for about 20 years. sometimes you see him out there riding around on his tractor picking them

1. strong halucinogens grow in cow shit nearly year round.
