Here are some picts from one of the 4 morer rolls I have with the new mushroom. it grows only on soil. It is never higher then the surrouinding grass, exactly as high and it nmatures. it can be 1.2" or 4", what3ever the grass is, two mushrooms 6" apart are differnt heights if the grass is also that high. It is not growing on old patties. Just dirt with a loty of sand and calcium in it like old coral, sea shells, etc. The gills are extremely purple, light, bright, purple. They do not dry nearly as brown as a cubensis. the annual ring disappears eventually. I found little with none, and big with ones still disappearing. They are extremely potent even growing in just sugar sand (white) which we have a lot of around here even in the pastures. I found all of them in the one spot, three different times. Then later i found one single odd about 1/2 mile away, then another across a couple of fileds from this one. This is the same field as the SF-1, the TC and the Florida strain of Tropicalis and Coplandia were found! I love it!!!!!!! Mr. G If anybody has aany clue what they are please tell me. i am tired of waiting on the german professor.[image]http://shroomery.org/wwwthreads/files/44641-New_2CP._20Martinesis_3F.jpeg[/image][image]http://shroomery.org/wwwthreads/files/4651-New_20whole.jpeg[/image][image]http://shroomery.org/wwwthreads/files/45917-New_20Cap_2C_20Top_3ABottom.jpeg[/image][image]http://shroomery.org/wwwthreads/files/2277-One_20walk.jpeg[/image]

Do they stain Blue?. -If so, i would love to have a Print.. Have any Bioassays been done? The print color doesnt look Dark Purple..and i seen no Bluing on the pics.. they look to be a type of Stropharia to me. If the mushrooms blue and the prints are purple then they are Psilocybe.

I agree that it looks like a stropharia and I also see no bluing. It doesn't appear to be an active species judging from the picture alone.

If you read Mr. G's first paragraph he says " it grows only on soil." Later he says sand. IF you look at the pictures and at the bottom of the stems you can see what appears to be drt (soil) and something looking which may be organic emenating form the base of one of the stems. I should mention that there ae more than 85 to over 100 other species of Psilocybe which are not psychoactive in the genera. This does not appear to be a Psilocybe but possibly a similar related species. Mr. G says they are highly potent but if they were there would be some kind of bluing reaction on at least several specimens. He sent a sporeprint to Jochen Gartz, (the German Scientist Mr. G refers to) andcannot wait to see what they are. However he did not send Dr. Gartz any generic description for Dr Gartz to key out the mushroom in order to identify it for him. Thus he wrote to mjshroomer at my email looking for John W. Allen. He also wanted Guzm?n's email and address but I had explained to Mr. G. that Guzm?n is still identifying new species dating back to 1997 so he is very behind in work and would not have time to examine them for several years. I also informed Mr. G that if he had a few hundred dollars to spare, any univesity mycology department or botany department would anayled them for content and study them for mycological identification. Something Mr. G has neither the money for or the inclination to be patient to find out exactly what they are. Pictures are obviously an instamatic camera. Anyone can purchase a cheap pentax with a zoom for under 100.00 and even cheaper is used. I would give him credit if is find is something new but I do not think so but he shoud tone down his anger and viloent side because people who respect these musrhooms do not act in the manner this person does. mj

I can't belive people are buying this bullshit claim to a new species. Even J. allen has been fooled, those are for sure without a doubt cubensis. They fit the description, they were found in a cow pasture, they do stain blue as you'll see in the pics I'm about to post(he emailed me too and tried to fool me, I didn't even respond) The first thing he told me was "they're not cubes even though they look like it" Yeah right, whatever.

Well Dr. G has successfully confused the shit out of me. I only saw the one picture that Anno put up for us to see. -The ones Lizard posted look like cubes. Ive been up all night (day for you guys) drinking green tea and couldnt even sleep over this shit! Well anyhow, Dr. G sucks at identifying mushrooms. And he further sucks if this post was a joke. I starting comparing them to the size of the penny, and decided they could possibly be Psilocybe mammillita!?!? Well i guess i have now learned to dicredit whatever the heck this dude is talking about. Keep shroomin, GG

Well im confused about it and Mr G isnt commenting on this so until he does i have no idea. Those mushrooms are so small. Too small for even the smallest of wild cubes. Look at the penny comparison. The pictures suck. They need to be more detailed. I zoomed into the burry picture that anno posted and one of those caps is red. That adds to my suspicion. The others that lizard king posted i would say are definately cubensis. My first impression of them was they might be the "Garland Stropharia" (from the national audobon societies mushroom book). But i think that mushroom is much larger in stature. Ya know, id like to help out with the identification but Mr G is not being very cooperative or he is just busy and hasnt read these replys yet. The prints look strange in color. Some are light violet color, others are the darker purple color of a P Cube. Possibly a mixed collection. The one cap that is the freshest and Goldest in color could be Cubensis, but the size is just so so small.. I also zoomed into the picture anno posted up, and i saw zero bluing. Psilocybe semilglobulata (sp.?) - i dont think so..he would have mentioned how slippery the caps are My guesses are as follows in order; Psilocybe mammillata Psilocybe Cubensis.. Inactive Stropharia..no bluing A more obscure Psilocybe not in stamets book, lastly a new psilocybe. Its driving me crazy.

Of course the images you posted LK are p. cubensis. It is those other mushrooms he posted pictures of which are definately not P. cubensis. This guy is so full of misinformation it is sad that any of us even respond anymore to this person. He really believes everything that comes out of his mouth. I willnot respond anymore to his posts. Not worth the effort. Just everyone be warned that he knows not what he preaches. mj

I don't know why everyone is so quick to discredit Mr. G ... i got no problems with him , nor do i see any misinformation .... he has gotten shit on since the spore wars in the 20 century .... And from what l have seen , most bashing him weren't even around then ...... i hope the multitude of smart ass post following his , don't keep him from posting here .....his contributions to mushroom cultivation has had a positive impact ... ofcourse this post was not directed to you MJ ...but those who haven't heard of him untill he "reappeared" have no business trying to discredit this man .... and those who actually know who he is, don't either ....

"Mr. G says they are highly potent but if they were there would be some kind of bluing reaction on at least several specimens" mjshroomer "Since P. semilanceata is low in psilocin, a co-indicator, it rarely bruises bluish." -Paul Stamets, Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World This isn't the only case of an active mushroom with little or no bluing reaction, and of course P. Semilanceata is not a weak mushroom by any means. I don't doubt that you know your stuff, mjshroomer, but you also seem to feel the duty to discredit Mr. G no matter what he says.

Those look a lot like some shrooms picked in hobe Sound-Martin County...They are common if you ask me- They grow in large clusters on rich soil. A handfull of Paneoulous or Cyans were harvested last time we went out that way. Whatever they were- they kicked ass- many visuals.

Mr. G has no comments to any of these responses, No answers to any of the questions, No more pictures to show us from the 4 more rolls of film left. No close-ups or zooms. He is selling this mushrooms prints advertised as Psilocybe martinesis, for (how much?) 40-50 dollars each..
