 boy am i confused

alright.. now im even more confused than i already was..
original plan- enlist for 4 years, then use the G.I Bill to pay for part of my college education AFTER serving
new situation- I got accepted at Toledo University (a mediocre college near my fiance) and am considering going to college first, then going to the army after i go to college for 4 years
any advice at all?

alright.. thats kind of an option.. but pretty much unless i enlist by this weekend, my mom is kicking me out of the house.. and ill be homeless until january.

yeah. like.. shes soo firm on me joining.. like.. she told me weeks ago that i have until the weekend to enlist or i have no place to live.. and she keeps reminding me every day

WTF man!
Why is she like that? I understand mothers deserve hella respect, but it sounds like yours is being completely unreasonable and disrespectful of you. I would just confront her one day and tell her "Yo, ma, I know you want me to join the army, but I don't want to. This is my life, and I choose how to live it. I don't want to go fucking kill people and possibly be killed. If you can't accept that and respect my wishes then fuck you, what kind of mother are you?"
I've had several friends in Iraq (Marines) and in other branches. Man, what they do to you is fucking disgusting. They brainwash you and put you through all sorts of shit. It's not like a video game. When you pull that trigger, real people really die and scream in agony. I've seen grown men, warriors, screaming in sorrow and horror over what they've done and over what their life has become.
There are ALWAYS other options man. I wouldn't wish that sort of life on anyone.

dude.. i know.. this is the first mom i have encountered who WANTS me to go.. like i dont understand this at all.. and she thinks by kicking me out.. it will motivate me to do something with my life (which is wrong)
right now im working on applying to Toledo.. ill get in.. i have amazing grades and test scores, Ohio state is just too expensive.. and then ill talk it over with my recruiter again.

hey man. my brother had no interest [that we know of] in joining the forces until his sophomore or junior year at college. He opted to graduate first, then join the Marines.
If you graduate first, you have the option of going to officer candidacy school and actually being able to go somewhere in the military [even if only for a short period of time], which will result in you not being a private, or whatever the lowest class is in the army, and possibly not having your ass blown to pieces in these useless, ongoing spats.
