Sphagnum Moss Tek?

Right here: Sphagnum Moss Tek
My local nursery has beautiful Sphagnum moss imported from New Zealand. The stuff is clean as a whistle compared to what comes in the bag.
Along with a basic dunk and roll and a beginner casting, I was going to try this tek with a few 1/2 pint jars by birthing, wrapping in the moss (bottom and sides), and dunking for 24 hours before placing in the fruiting chamber.
Few Questions:
Anyone use this tek?
Is it a good idea to cover with the moss BEFORE the dunk so the moss gets saturated with water?
Any input or help appreciated! Thanks

I would prepare the moss as the tek says, then apply it to the cake after its been dunked. Then I might mist it and keep it misted for optimal moisture.

I was a little conserned with sterility.
I thought either:
A) PC the moss in a dry quart jar, then add distilled water till moist. Place a layer on the bottom of the chamber screen and surround the sides of the cakes with the moss too.
B) Cover the sides and bottom of the cakes and then dunk in a 1:100 bleach and water solution for 24 hours.

Hmmm...
Do people do this tek with peat moss, doesn't peat moss require something to balance pH?
The Sphagnum moss from New Zealand was really clean, no twigs or soil or decomposition; very dry and clean. It looked like braded hair in perfect long strands. It would be easy to simply wrap it around the cakes and tie it with itself.
This is just a fun experiment with cakes!
Pastuization sounds like a good idea though

Personally, I'd skip the sphagnum if I were you. Dunking will place moisture into the cake faster than the moss with much less chance of growing molds.
Peat moss is different. It's what we use for casing layers, usually mixed with vermiculite and buffered with lime to a ph of 7.5 to 8. Sphagnum moss is what is used to line the basket we hang plants in to keep the soil from falling out. RR

That link is down right scary!
But, not scary enought not to try this tek; however, I do this the moss should either be bleach dunked first or PCed, even if it killes the live moss.
Looks like there are not too many people who tried this tek, so of course I feel a need to try it and report back later in case others want to try this tek.
From my understanding of this tek, it's not about nuts, just extra water between dunks or a way to add water when the cakes get too dry. It just seems like a dung and roll tek, only moss is used instead of vermiculite.

Not sure what the instructions are but my advice is to apply the moss after dunking. Our nursery ]buys sphagnum moss in bulk[/url] and we apply it at the very end. Moss is inherently moist, and it doesn't need to be directly watered in order to absorb and retain moisture.
