how long after germination may a PF jar be shaken?

Hi, my Guadalara seems to be growing mighty fast. Only after 4 days it seems to have a strong foothold on PF WBS Jar. It is a 1 pint filled only halfway. How long are you suppose to wait before shaking the jar? Am worried that shaking too soon may weaken the Mec.

Colonizing WBS is typically shaken when they are 20-30% colonized. I have shaken jars at 50% and had good results as well though. The general rule is to only shake the jar one time, maybe twice. If you wait until you are in the 20-30% range, you have a better chance of being able to redistribute the colonized seed without shaking, but rather by rolling the jar around. This will help the mycelium stay strong.

you dont shake PF jars . you do not need to mix the dry layer of verm at the top , then your cakes will be prone to contamination , not to mention they dont really shake anyways , they kinda turn into a solid block .
