Any other options besides honey???

I was wondering if there are any other ways to store mushrooms that are similar to storing them in honey....im seriously allergic to honey and want to know if there are other natural foods you can preserve them in and maintain the potency
Thanks for any help or ideas

Just dry them until they are cracker dry..
