oven bag questions

my opinion of oven bags is pretty low right now. sure they don't melt in the oven but they breech very easily. is there something thicker on the market that I'm missing out on? also, has anyone messed around with heat sealing tyvek to oven bags? i have and it seems to work but i cant seem to figure out how to seal a circle in the middle of a bag? I'm thinking about ripping up a clothes iron to bring out the heating element. then.... i need guidance.

Just use filter patch bags. They're made for the purpose and have filters already installed. RR

I hope Omni doesn't mind me borrowing his pic... I was taking a hard look at these bags last night. Not sure if would work in your case, but on the off chance check it out. They appear to use polyfil as opposed to tyvek but maybe you could adapt it.

just use filter patch bags. i tried pressure cooking an oven bag, but when i took it out the mixture was very dry. they burst and get holes in them very easily.

I think Hip's bulk tek recommends using a larger oven bag to encompass the first bag and then a large heat resistant ziplock over that. You should find that tek and try it because it sounds like you are doing something wrong.
