Need a quick fix

ok guys. So I think my wbs jars might not have the right moisture content. they are pretty dry and i see colonization starting on the sides of the jar where more moisture was. Is there a way i can add moisture to these jars with out loosing them? i would hate to start all over again.
I also have an LC that is showing no signs of colonization. Its been 7 days now. Any ideas what could have happend?

Hmm... I don't see any harm in injecting some sterile h2o directly in the jars, and shaking them...
Also, is your LC cloudy? It could have been contaminated with Yeast, its kind of hard to tell though. If its real cloudy, and when you look through the jar, if things become distorted (careful not to mistake the curve of the glass jar for these distortions) It could be a yeast contam, which would stop mycelium growth..

Isn't the LC he has questionable?

yeah i have an LC.. but no colonization has started in it. My wbs jars are colonizing but in very, very small amounts only on the sides where there was more moisture. I think my heating pad dried them out. So yes i have an LC that has not started colonizing yet and 6 wbs jars that are colonizing but slow due to moisture i believe.

Ok, well it would be no benefit to inject the uncolonized LC into your jars, it could only risk contamination... And after that long, your LC is probably toast by the way... It should start showing signs of growth 2-3 days after inoculation.
I would inject some sterile h2o directly in the jars, and shake the hell out of them, gl

I have had WBS jars take almost two weeks to see any real growth. Give it a bit more time. I have tried adding LC and just plain sterilized water to my jars. I found that the water that I added would just kinda pool at the bottom of the jar and not really soak into the grains like you would want it to.
Now when ever I have jars that wont finish colonizing due to moisture problems I just do a grain to grain transfer with what is there. Grain to grain transfers are really fast. It saves you from starting all over again and waiting for spores to germinate plus there is more assurance that you wont have any contams provided you do a clean transfer.

so say i wait for a like 3-4 more days. I don't see any more progress do you recommend just transferring the portions of where i see growth to new jars that have the proper moisture content? That is What you are saying correct?

Yes. That is what I would do. You will save yourself from waiting for spores to germinate and wont have to use a questionable LC.
I suggest using a still air glove box. If you don't have one you should really consider making one.

OK I have 6 half full quart Jars. Should I make 6 more half quarts and mix equal parts to make a full quart jar?

You could do that but it's not necessary. Really all you need to transfer to the new jar is a small spoonful of what has colonized then give it a good shake.

I'm doing my first grow and I did a couple of soak+simmered wbs and a few I just soaked. The simmered ones showed a bit of growth after about 5 days around the jar and at 7 days the soaked ones had only growth in the bottom (not much at all) where I believe the moisture sunk to. I gave em all a good shake on the morning of the 8th day and now at day 12 the outside is just about done. The soaked ones actually colonized faster once shaken than the simmered ones.
Shake them up and give them a bit more time. I didn't peek at them for a while after I shook them, that would have helped speed them along.
