Bookstore Suggestion

It would be really nice to have a recommendation list or three of books to buy for different interests. List the best three or four books available for each topic, something like:

1) Books that are good for starting cultivation
2) Books that are good for advanced cultivation
3) Books that are good for the science/genetics behind mushrooms
4) Books that are good for hunting and identification
5) Must have books regardless of what you are doing

To do this, somebody would have to rate the books and choose the ones that are "the best".

In mushroom cultivation, sure TMC and GGMM are pretty high on the list...

But in other fields? Perhaps you can make a list?

Couldn't we have a poll set up to do this automatically?

Also, couldn't the shroomery make money by advertising those books with links to amazon or B&N or something? I'm not talking corporate sponsorship or anything, just a link on a page for book recomendations, to help keep the place running...

Those books ARE advertised with links to Amazon and can be purchased at Amazon through those links. The shroomery gets 5-15% of the sales of these books, depending on whether the book is put into the shoping basket immediately or after surfing and searching on the Amazon pages.

As for the poll....
You mean like having the possibility to rate the books on the bookshop page with points from 1-5? This should be feasable....
