Complete Newbie!
    #5973814 - 08/17/06 06:13 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

Hey all, I've never grown before, but I've certainly enjoyed a couple grams of magic mushrooms from time to time.

Anyhow, I was considering getting started on growing by ordering a Tropicaire Humidifier and Air Exchanger from Sporeworks.com, and 4 Spore Syringes. However, they have tons of different spore choices, and I don't know enough about them to make an informed decision.
The options are:

# B+
# Burma
# Costa Rica
# Ecuador
# Golden Teacher
# Huautla
# Malabar Coast
# Mazatapec
# Nepal, Chitwan
# Penis Envy
# PES Amazonian
# PES Hawaiian
# PF Standard
# PF Albino
# PF Redspore
# Puerto Rican
# Treasure Coast

Which 4 of those would you suggest I get to start with? and maybe (if you're willing) tell me why... quantity, quality, speed, ease of growth etc.

thanks!

Yeah, Ralphster.

...and use perlite. Cheap, and effective.

Oh, and don't grow B+. It is really slow. Big fruits, but not very many of them.

From what I have read on this site, you'll get the easiest results from Amazonian, GT, or RedBoys.

Penis Envy is a pain in the ass.

Please don't. There is no need for one, they are not the best. You can do alot more with perlite and the PF method for your first time rather then get that.

And IMOP when it comes to spores, a cube is a cube. They may look and sound different but they are all the same in the end.

then what would you suggest? I'm planning on casing these, and I don't want to have to fiddle around with the humidity too much... casings are too sensitive and I don't think a spray bottle and plexiglass will give me the control I need to successfully fruit these.

Also, where would you suggest buying a hygrometer?

Maybe for you

B+

PE

PE may be hard to print , but I don't find it any harder to cultivate then any other Cube . That casing was 2 BRF cakes crumbled and cased with straight verm.

why'd you wait so long on those B+? I don't see a single shroom in there that hasn't dropped it's spores. or maybe I'm just too new to this to be saying things like that....

PMP is 100X better then the POS Tropicaire Humidifier. Tropicaire Humidifier dose NOTHING but give you a head ake. Like I said PMP dude. If you don't trust me on anything else trust me on this one

I trust ya babo, but where would I get the PMP from, and how much is it? I don't want to drop $100 on a humidifier, if that's the case I'll just do it myself.
