Both are cool.

Monotubs can be stacked to give you the same growing space as a martha, I just simply prefer to see racks of shrooms hanging out in a hazey mist, the cool factor.

i used a martha for a while

but i switched to monotubs for the stealth factor.
BUT.
i have had terrible luck with monotubs thus far, nothing like the yeild from my martha. my technique may have been flawed, but the results were poor enough to send me crawling back to martha.
both are good, and have their pros and cons.

That is a nice looking Martha, Did the Freemasons help you build it ? ,
( whats that at the bottom right of the greenhouse guarding the shrooms )

Anyway thats a nice setup. I have only done PMP setups, I want a Martha but my PMP does the job.

I tricked a bunch of masons into helping me build it to "promote white supremacy" and then i dosed them with fungus and threw them out of my plane.

as for the guard, its a mini Zapatista, Subcomendante Marcos sent him up from Chiapas to protect my grow.

but now...

^^maybe the tyvek instead of the poly-fil is your downfall with the tubs.

try it like the tek says, you might find better results.

lol this is a ridiculous post the reason being of course a martha is going to yield more look at the size of a martha and compare that to a 80 quart tub it's like 10 times the size.plus the fae factor that a martha can provide but if you want stealth go for mono tub i have one or two under neath a bed in a closet very very stealthy gatta love it

Thats how you get the job done.

Man you have a clean room, that is impressive
But to have those 4 little tubs in that masonic hall of cleanliness is not enough.
You should have 2 Martha's running, Or turn the whole thing into one big grow room,:hehehe:

P.S.
I am never posting again,
I'm at 420 .

EDIT: i dont do tubs like with tyvek, that was just an experiment. definatly better results with polyfil.

i sort of dove into the monotub thing.  i had only done 3 tubs before this grow.  there are those four, and there were 10 more in the closet incubating.  then a heatwave from hell hit and everything got fried.  or a combination of that and some other error.
were talking about over 100 LBS of colonized/colonizing Hpoo down the drain.  i tried a few more, and im getting poor but acceptable results, but i just feel  better with the 'hands on' aspect of a martha.
i have three of those martha ready to go, and rye coming along nicely to fill them.

Both have their respective purposes. It seems that you answered that yourself.

well duh i was proving a point that of course martha will yield more just because it is bigger and has more fae. but the bigger the op the more chances of being caught easier to stash 2 tubs than a martha

It's all about your own personal needs. I don't need a "cool" looking setup and I don't need a ton of mushrooms, so Marthas aren't really for me. I can pull about a pound dry from a mono tub and that's plenty for my needs. The other factor is that I can move my tubs or cover them up at a moments notice if I have unexpected/unwanted guests.

I think people who have problems with mono tubs must have temperature issues or maybe have their tubs in an area where the air isn't moving at all. Otherwise, the setup is on auto-pilot.
