Looks like a feral dog or wolf that has been dead for a couple days(hence the bulging eye(s)....
But the eye does seem off somehow.
Guess time will tell.
And why is that the only picture? If it really is some odd hybrid or whatever, why not snap off rolls and rolls of film on that sucker?

It definately looks like some sort of dog....but the eyes on that thing are nothing I've seen before.....
That isn't enough for me to warrant the idea of a Chupacabra.
It doesn't even seem to have a mouth for sucking blood :/

It says it was found in Maine. I thought the Chupacabra was supposed to live around the Carribean.

interesting, could you expand or send me a link? i was reading a book in which an enlightened yogi tells of how fairies, gnomes, goblins and everything all actually exist but on different planes of reality, so i question, how did we know about such specific creatues, maybe we were once able to see them and stories have passed down but now we think they are completly made up, thats just a small not to well thought off theory,
They said, "You will see new animals, and even the old animals will come back, animals that people thought had disappeared. They will find them here and there. They'll begin to reappear."
http://www.dreamscape.com/morgana/atlas.htm
i've heard of a fish that ppl thought was extinct. its not so outrageous that seeds perhaps stuck into rock like sedimentary rock could survive and come back as the climate changes.

i think it's interesting how evil this creature appears to be. I imagine most people feel the same way. Is it written into our biology to fear this animal or is it something else?

Thedrummer, the only qualities that would relate our fear to a given object is that of which instinct has predisposed. You could be correct in that this odd dog based evolutionist has recently hunted your ancestors and memory of which has been cumulated definitively in a hierarchy placing the fear of what you're witnessing on a pedestool beyond most other species of life.
-------------------- I went to st thomas and camped out ontop of the island... Despite my entire family being poor all my life, the land is priceless. I was chased by haitians in the main city charlotte amalie when my girlfriend and I got some cocaine for free in a bar and mixed it with alcohol, to form a stronger drug. With such confidence at 2am, we walked the 4-5 or so miles down to the beach where the african slaves lie like lions waiting on tourist prey. The war isen't on drugs... the war is on the causes that influence people to abuse drugs. drug-abuse is a by-product of the system and much like radioactive waste occurs from utilizing nuclear power, drug addicts with drug-problems will need to be properly disposed of, like the decaying radioactive waste produced from nuclear energy. -i2ancid
