    #5970478 - 08/16/06 06:39 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

I'm doin the pf tek and i got 5 jars colonizing each one is only colonizing at 1 of the 4 holes.

I'm assuming this will only effect the jars length of colonization is this true??

you got it. if the myc only colonizes from one inoculation point on a jar, you can expect your timeframe to be lengthened significantly. hopefully the other 3 sites will show some growth soon.

Uh.. If only 1/4 of the inoculation spots show signs of growth, either the jar will take a very very long time to colonize, or it may take so long that it will dry up.

Are you sure its not just to early to see all signs of growth? The other spots could be running a little slower...

Also, just curious, how much solution (spore solution or LC?) did you use per hole?

THIS IS A LESSON FOR YOU.

ALWAYS shake a syringe, before each inoculation point.

Sounds like the first hole on each jar received spores.

The others did not.
