Following PF TEK...
Once the cake is covered in myc. you then incubate it.
Incubation consists of keeping it as humid as possible and as close to 86 degrees untill you have your shrooms correct? (I plan on using perlite)

you incubate until the cake is colonized and then put in a high humidity enviroment (fruiting chamber)
no need to heat a fruiting chamber

Wait... incubation is WHILE the mycilium (SP?) is growing?... THATS when you want it at a dark place as close to 86 degrees right?
Then birthing is when you put them in a terrarium and as close to 76 degrees and humid as possible?

I'd imagine that if your in AL, you'll want to cool your FC(fruiting chamber) to maintain the mid 70's and your incubation should be fine with ambient temps 80-85 ish.

Wiggly,
A temp of (approx.) 86F ,with darkeness, are elements needed during incubation (this is where the mycellium take over the substrate if all goes well). The other important piece during incubation is gas exchange.
When you birth, you will be putting the colonized substrate (PF Cakes in this example) into a fruiting chamber of some sort. Here, for cakes, humidity should be kept between 74-77F (optimally), with lots of Fresh Air Exchange (FAE), HIGH humidity, and some light. Here is where your colonized substrate will fruit into mushrooms.
There are the basics. I hope that answers your Q...
There are lots of things you can do to alter your exact steps (like deciding to case or dunk and/or roll.)
You may have to read up a bit. Read MMGG (Edit: Magic Mushroom Growers Guide) in addition to PF to help connect some dots.
