How long will straw last in storage?

I bought a whole bails worth, and cut 1-3 inch pieces in two large bags, waiting in my closet. Figured it was good enough for two grows. I did my thing and filled a pillow case with it, and realised that they were going to last me about 10 grows, than I pasterurized the straw and only used half the bag, realizing that they would last me twenty grows. The bags are nice and sealed off- but how long can straw stay good for? IYE?

So long as it remains dry & clean. Straw should store almost indefinitely.
BTW, I am not a straw fan. Unless, it is composted.

Why not? Do you feel it contaminates easier than poo? I want whatever contaminates less. But from what I here, poo takes a lot longer to colonize. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Straw will only keep for a few days after pasteurization. It needs to be used right away. Stored dry, it will last for years.
Look up the straw log tek. You can grow some monsters with it. RR

Everythings good then... But I did have a tray that had been incubating for 3 days, but didn't have any wholes in it so it barely colonized. I fixed it, but I'm worried that it wont have enough time to colonize. Here's the thing though, the ration of cake:straw is 1:2 so theres no much to colonize. Pray with me it works, its the biggest tray I have that I did this on!

Straw is far less nutritious than brf so it won't do so well. With straw you need a large substrate. RR

Awww shit I knew I should've done a few cakes. Still, looking at some extra straw with a miniscule amount of myc put in a 1/2 pinter I see that growth has shot up within a period of 2 days and I could see it being done in 7 more. That's a total of 9 days, and the limit is 10. If I'm lucky, my big tray should juuuust make it before the 10 day mark, if not, what should I do with it all?

This is the truth!
Im a Straw Lover.. Even with poo, i dont get nearly the yeilds i do on straight straw.
trick is to use as much substrate( straw) as possible.
Never mind the urban myth you will get here abouit only a single good flush on straw... with extra substrate you will get a min. of 3 good flushes, maybe more.
the straw tek in my journal gives a steady 1/2 lb dry!

If they don't fully colonize within like 9 days, what can I do?
Would this work? I'll take out my substrate and crumble it, picking out any uncolonized straw and then putting it in a tray and casing it.
Hmmm?
