Hey everyone, just introducing myself! I'm located in Duluth, MN, and grew up with fungi all around me. We immigrated to Duluth when I was about 2 from Moscow, Russia, and mushroom gathering has been a great pasttime for generations in my family! Hopefully I can contribute to the community and try to help identifying, too! Although I'm still novice, I know what to do before doing anything with a mushroom or anything similar. Also, I would like to know if there have been any members in Minnesota that have found any active mushrooms? Even if there aren't any, I still am gunna be an avid hunter, it's just finding an active mushroom here or there is just like a little extra bonus! :P

Hey!
What wonderful kind of day, if we can learn to work and play, and get along with each other
Didn't the same guys who did "Who let the dogs out?" do the Arthur theme song?

Yeah, everyone does it! We get kinda pissed off here too because before, only us and another family went gathering in Duluth, but now a whole bunch of other Russian and Polish families came over, and now we actually need to look for them now! haha

Hey, I'm from Minnesota too, St. Paul area. I also wonder if anyone from this state has found any active mushrooms. The only psychoactive mushrooms that I've found were the Amanita Muscaria, formosa variety. There are probably Panaeolus subbalteatus around here but I have yet to find any. I've found plenty of good edibles though; like giant puffballs, shaggy manes, boletus edulis. I'm a little suprised I havn't come across any morels yet, especially since they are our state mushroom, but then again I've only been hunting for a couple years. I bet Duluth would be a better place to hunt for the morels. Anyways, what kind of edible mushrooms have you found in your area?
