Even from my house (in a city of 2.5 million people) I've been able to see dozens of shooting stars recently. Later this next week I'll be camping far far away from any signifigant source of light though - I can't wait to lie down, smoke a few bowls with friends, and stargaze.

I've been seeing a lot, too. 5 mornings a week I am inside a national park at 9700+ feet righ before sunrise. The main problem right now is that the moon overshines a lot of them, but still I've been seing at least half a dozen in the hour befor first light. We'll be camping far away from any light for the next 3 days, leaving early Monday AM.

I was up at Mt St Helens saturday night, and saw a good 8-10 before I decided to pass out. And I saw a billion satellites, and trillions of beautiful stars. The air here out west is so much better than where Im from (NC).
