A few pics of my FC, and a few questions..

Gonna leave the first one huge:

Ok, my questions; that first cake looks like there's mold growing on the top of it, it's grayish blue hairlike stuff, and it's hard to see in the picture. On the other 2 cakes is real fuzzy white stuff. Is that rhizomorphic growth? I'm still a noobie, and don't even know what rhizo means but that's what I've picked up from reading.
Is the grayish/blueish fuzz on the top of that cake ok? Is that just bruising? The cakes did take a spill but didn't land on their heads.
Secondly, my hygrometer is showing 45% humidity but I think it must be wrong because it appears very humid in there. I know there's a hygrometer test with salt but can't you tell if it's humid enough by just looking at it? I reached my hand in and felt the Perlite, it's wet, moist, but there is no standing water on the bottom of the terranium. It is sealed up with saran wrap. Any advice would be good.

Oh, you can kind of see the grayish top compared to the other cake in the 2nd pic the best.

Give it time. If it is contam, you'll know later on. If it is bruising, it won't get any worse. I wen on vacation a couple of weeks ago, and I came back and one of my cakes had been contaminated for a while, but none of the other cakes were. I highly doubt that it is contam; I had the same worry on my first attempt at cakes. If you go to my user gallery and look at "great bruise pic," you'll know what I'm talking about.

Looks ok to me. If it is cobweb it will grow FAST FAST FAST, like all over the place in hours. That's what I hear. My untrained eye sees no contams.

First thing I always do is smell the cakes. If its just mush growing, it will have a nice, mushroomy smell (you'll know it when you smell it). If you don't smell that, or you smell something sick sweet, or sour, then its likely a contam.
Also, rhizomorphic growth is.. well.. easier to show in a picture, haha. See that pinwheel looking growth on the cake? That'd rhizomorphic growth. It grows outwards from a center point, like a starburst or a pinwheel (like I said earlier). For cubies, its a good thing Thats what your mycelium should look like. If you see cottony hairs all over the place that're more gray than white, say hi to cobweb mold
If you're concerned still, check out this thread. Hope that helps some!
