Hey I'm new to shroomery and registered because i was thinking about growing my own mushrooms at home in the Midwest. I do have a question as well. 1) Is there a particular type of spore that is better suited to the first time grower? Thanks for any of your help

1. Shroomery is a proper noun and as such should be capitalized.
2. Growing mushrooms in the midwest is illegal.
3. No certain spore. They all work fine as long as they're cubensis.

Welcome, I'm sure you'll like posting here. There's a lotta good people around.

Do some reading up about spores, most cubensis are basically just as easy/hard to grow as the rest, but the effects may vary slightly, and so should look for that which will suit best what you are lookin for.
PS, it is shroomery tradition that when a new member starts his/her own thread he/she must post some nudes of themselves. Get to it. clicky. clicky.

Welcome.

Welcome.
Don't worry about the strains/effects thing. They've all got the chemicals you want, and the effects of all strains are what you're after. Some will swear by their favorite strains, but chances are the differences in your growing conditions will be too great to even compare these features.
Variation in substrate and technique will always be 1000x more important than the slight differences between strains. But you might find some that you like under your conditions. Look at the pretty pictures and names and choose some that appeal to you. Just make sure they're cubensis.
