Cobwebs on my casing... :(

Hey guys, I just cased 2 days ago and I went to take a peek under the foil (with a air holes) and I'm struck with cobweb mold. It's about 60% of my whole casing TOP layer. Is there anything I can do to help it out? More air exchange (ie. more holes or opening top of foil for a minute or two once a day)? Any help would be great. I was even thinking of slightly dampining an rubbing alchol swab on the top just on the cobweb mold. I'd be very careful not to touch the myc. Myc. is growing pretty good despite the cobweb. Any suggestions?

I read a response to someone else's cobweb problem and they suggested to add 1/2 tsp baking soda per 1 cup of water and air exchange regularly. I hope this helps me and anyone else who visits this thread for help on their cobweb problem.

Get some 3% hydrogen peroxide, put it in some sort of spray thing, and gently mist the top of you casing with it. Do this 1-2ce a day till the cobweb receeds
Good luck with that

Screw a trigger pull type mist applicator straight on a peroxide bottle, and spray the whole thing down, then DRAMATICALLY INCREASE your FAE.

Proper pasteurization of the casing material should give you at least a week to ten days without contaminants. If you have it after two days, something was done terribly wrong. Peroxide right from the bottle will kill cobweb on contact, but you need to find the root cause. Either the cobweb was already growing on the substrate, or you sterilized the casing material, or some other such mistake was made. Good luck. RR
