Wow this is a strange coincidence, I haven't been in this forum in a while. I went over to my families house today to tend to their garden and visit, and between the peppers and the tomatoes was 3 dried little pan subbs! growing out of a mix of composted manure, sand, and crushed red clay.
right at the bottom of this picture between those two peppers. crazy sons of a!
anyway heres the mushrooms and why i posted.
they were dry, so its pointless to try and ID really, but take a look at this
^ notice the black spore ring around the stem?
how perfectly preserved by the sun...
and now heres why im calling these pan subbs...

yep.... you see that? no? . . . . .
X4

yeah baby... thats blue! not green, not red, but blue!!!
totaly stoked on my 3 gimpy pan subbs, now maybe my pet garbonzo bean can trip out o.O
ill keep an eye on the spot.
hope u enjoy the pics!

Well I do not see blue in those mushrooms. Usually the bluing is only visable in fresh shrooms. The reddish-brown coloration of the stipe generally hides any bluing on the shrooms. Expecially on a dried subb.
And the caps of subsI have picked pounds of these babies and there is b no bluing ever visable in a dried specimen.
Here is one from me of almost the exact same look.

k well they look like all the 5 million other subbs ive picked, and they got black spores and blue on each foot. i was yet to find any subbs with blue feet, and all 3 of these have blueish mycelium and some blue stains at the base of the stem.

Now on a seperate note- is this a substantial find?? I mean, nearly all of the subbs I have picked have had evident bluing at the base of the stipe where the mycellium attaches... Even after drying, many of the specimens retain the blue colour.
It is more evident in the larger specimens.
But umm, I have eaten maybe 2 grams of subbs with bluing more obvious than that, even after drying, and I didn't get much more than a little buzz.
What makes yours so special?!!
But you are correct ShroomieOfDoomie, photos do not do justice to the bruising seen with these mushrooms. I have tried many times. It rarely turns out.
There was one photo i snapped that was able to capture the blue colour, what is odd, is that it was unintentional.... I was barely able to see the blue on this mushroom in the pic when i looked at it with my naked eye, unlike many others with 10x more vivid bruising, yet the blue showed up on this one!
