That specimen in the 3rd picture and the lighter lying on the cap is picture fucking perfect. From top to bottom it looks pristine...you shoulda gotten a shot without the lighter as well; woulda been nice for a nomination.

I've just put the lighter on the cap to size it up
Thans again, I'll try to make some better shots while it's a season

Wow I know nothing of Siberia, have you encountered the ritual use of Amanitas over there or is this only in days of old? Brilliant pics!

I've heard about using Amanitas by natives of this area, but I've never seen native shamans over here.. Many of them who live by their habitual way (hunting, fishing, deer farming etc.) are far away from cities. And I don't think they'll be very happy to meet me there
Hope you understand my so-called 'English'

Was the pun intended there? In some parts of siberia it regularly reaches -20ºC or lower.
From Wikipedia:
Quote:
With a lowest record temperature of -71.2°C, Oymyakon (Sakha Republic) has the distinction of being the coldest town on Earth. In general, Sakha is the coldest Siberian region.

Umm.. Siberia is larger that the united states. It has many climate zones, including a near tropical rainforest in the far east and many parts are hot during the summer.

Heh, that's quite rigth.. It was about -50"C last January over here, but it's unusual. Ordinarily it's -10"C - -30"C during winter and +20"C - +40"C in summer. I mean the place where I live.

Nice specimens! I love the way you include the habitat in those photos, so you really have a chance to see the amanitas in their natural context!
