How to heat a greenhouse

I'm planning on building a greenhouse with pvc pipe and uv rated poly tarp, but was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on the cheapest way to heat iot through the winter, it only gets down to about 20 in the winter here, but some days it doesn't even get above 45 at high noon.

Depends on the size of the greenhouse. Try and keep the heat in by leaving doors/vents closed longer until the midday sun comes around. Using heatpads under plants can work in smaller houses and seems to be relatively cheap. Using a turbine heater with a thermostat for the medium greenhouse,I know alot of nurseries here use them in winter. Thats my 2 cents anyways..

radiant flooring, digging the floor down to below frost level, oil heater..... or electric if you got the cash. but a hot water heater pumping warm water though a grid on the floor would do the trick.

^^^good points.I also forgot to mention double glazing your greenhouse, this will definitely help raise the temperature. But try to construct it so that you can remove the outer layer in the summer.

double glaze, with a blower pushing air between the two layers of plastic is the way to be.
Have a pipe on each side of the green house. Or two 2x4s and clamp, the plastic inbetween. Then you can roll it up a few feet when its warm out so air can flow though.

a CO2 generator produces enough heat buy burning propane. this will obviously also benefit many plants.

I absolutely disagree as moving air will transfer heat more than still air!
