He has one released movie in the United States - Ong Bak the Thai Warrior

Second movie is released but not in the US I believe (although I have it) - Tom Yum Goong

Next movie Protector is released in US Theatres this August, I'm excited as hell. For anyone in New York he's also doing a free martial arts show before the premeire screening of Protector, I'd go if I was there.

Yep he is complety awesome. Ong-bak was a great movie, the best martial arts movie I have ever seen. This guy could really stand up to Bruce Lee if he was alive.
I've just downloaded Tom Yum Goong with subs.

Too bad. I have great respect for people who can achieve such incredible feats with their martial arts and their bodies in general.

A movie in which there were no special effects, and the man does all his own stunts. His physical performances and abilities are amazing, movie or not.

well...i guess it comes down to prefrence.

in a 'movie' i prefer a little story, character development, half way decent acting...etc
i saw ong bak as being a glorified trophy piece for a stunt man, as even the fighting was pretty lame.

To each his own.  I like cool fighting and a little view into another culture.

Sounds like you're a romantic comedy kinda guy, so chances are we'll never agree

i love martial arts movies

but i prefer to watch guys that actually know their shit (jet li for example). tony jaa was never a martial artist, he just wanted to make movies (aka glorified stunt man)
and it really shows in his action scenes...at least to me. it just seems so fake.

of course this could be forgiven if he could act, but he cant.

That's not true at all, look up some of his live performances.

meh, i saw them awhile ago and didn't think they were anything special. he's a performer not a fighter.

now put him in a ring with li, then i'd think about watching him again  :smirk:
