The hashish appreciation thread

Today I spent several hours exploring hashish, which was most satisfactory. Good hashish is rare in the USA, as is the practice of hashish smoking. That's a shame, especially because in the USA there's an abundance of mediocre and absolutely shitty marijuana (mostly mexican brickweed) which can be turned into high quality hashish through the simple technique of sieving (through silk cloth or pantyhose) and compressing the resulting kif to nuggets.
make hash like this
The outdoor grower can shake whole plants on a screen door, then subjecting the rough kif to a fine sieving.
This is basically the technique used in hashish-producing countries like Morocco, where fields are grown from regular seed, males and females are not separated, the plants are in no way spectacular, but much of the hashish produced is excellent and on par with the finest sinsemilla.
Let's make a hashish appreciation thread

I've never seen hash here in the midwest, unless it magically appeared in my house. Noone sells it, and noone asks, because they think is doesn't exist here. I much prefer a good cured nugget to hash, or both mixed together.
Nuggets just taste soo good, and I love to smoke.

I like many other europeans have access to good maroccon hashish and other types like manali, nepalese, pakistan and so on. i also remember a time when hashish from afghanistan, lebanon, kashmir and other was availble. I used to live in christiania in denmark where there was an open hash marked, good times unfortunaly the goverment of denmark has shut down pusherstreet. the best hash i have bought in spain where high quality hash is extremly cheap compared to other european countries. i love good hash.
there was no option for preferring hash and weed equal so i voted hashish over weed.

Thanks for the great thread!
HHHHAAAASHHH
I haven't seen any hash around since we were flooded with it in the late 80's

I used to be able to buy decent hash at cheaper price than weed where I live. Those days are now over unfortunately because of the huge hash busts recently. That's why I went to Amsterdam last spring. Good times I don't quite remember!

The only hash I've encountered is the stuff I made. My friend makes it too now.

hash is nice... much more dreamy then weed! only it ain't as fun to smoke, usualy i'd mix it with tobacco which is SHIT and makes the high kinda lethargic heavy and numbing but when smoked as is the high is much better and way more powerfull!
i can only get deacent hash over here in israel...

that's mostly what people smoke here right now... goes for about 45$ USD (that's 200 NIS) for 9-10 grams ("tola" a tola is supposed to be around 12-13 grams though )
what i like most about hash is how easy it is to use... you can smoke it or eat it with little effort! i love making hash choco drinks... they taste REALLY good (with the hash piney taste and the dark chocolate) and work great!
but all in all i like a good home growen sensimilla high much better then a hash high (although i've never smoked any home made hash so i can't say anything for conissure hash)

also... hash in preticular (but THC in general) is a powerfull learning tool! here's a couple of my expiriances, first with Hash and second with some excelent home growen Sensimilla
it always makes me intune with my body in a powerfull way... senses and attention are hightened (although attention gets VERY selective ) i've learned alot about my body and my self thanks to THC!

why dont they use cold water extraction? Makes for way better hash in my opinion since there is little or no extras (veg matter)...only trichomes. (?sp) Plus it is faster and easier.

I can get some decent hash quite often and it truly is almost a different drug I swear. The only way I like smoking it, when possible, is hot kniving it. My ol' man once gave me some good advice and said to me,
"It is a waste of the hash experience to smoke it any other way other than the hotknives"
Maybe that's been programmed in my head, but I'll never go back to any other way.

does someone want to explain a good hotknifing technique? I hear people swearing by it all the time...but when my friends had me do it twice before (kind bud...not hash), it didnt work all that great (IMO). We pretty much put a butter knife over a propane burner until we thought it was hot enough, put the knife down on some shake and inhaled it through a chopped 20oz pepsi bottle with holes in the bottom, and ice inside of it, inhaling through the mouthpiece. Anything sound wrong?

why dont they use cold water extraction?
Wanna do a cold water extraction of the ton of dried whole cannabis plants found on a family plot? Nope, they typically use a kind of "screen door" with silk or a sheet instead of screen, load on a couple of kilos of whole dried cannabis branches and shake it between two people over a table which collects the kif. These people grow cannabis as a crop, and produce slabs of hashish as an agricultural harvest, no manicuring or trimming of leaves involved
If we put our backs into it, you and me could harvest branches and put a kilo or so of kif in the hash press in a single afternoon. You can't beat that with icewater methods, which should be reserved for small crops of super potent plants. The generic method turns generic cannabis into fine hashish, whereas otherwise you'd frown on it as just another brickweed.

Wow. Hash huh? I haven't used it since 8th grade. It was damn good then and would most likely be damn good now! ^^
The way I was taught to smoke it was to have a plastic bottle. Make a hole in the side. Pick off little peices of the hashish and roll little balls, then stick it to the end of a burning cigarette. Put the cigarette inside the whole in the bottle. Let the hash burn on the end of the cig and fill the bottle with smoke and inhale through the mouth of the bottle. seems like a lot of work now that I think about it. I only did it like 3 times. Gawd I was like 13. D =

I find the stone from hash more earthy and is generally a richer experience. I'm prone to anxiety and find that grass exacerbates this more than hashish. Both are readily available at the same price. Usually I go for some temple ball or pollen, which are dark-and-sticky and light-and-powdery, respectively.
My lungs prefer grass though.
