Something that's always made me wonder

Okay, let me preface this little bit of ponder-material with a short description.
In Alaska for quite some time I was one of the only people around who knew where to get mushrooms (mostly thanks to here) so I've seen a lot of different people trip in a lot of different circumstances.
The thing that gets to me, is how VERY different people in VERY different situations seem to come up with the same ideas, even say the same things as other people that are tripping. It almost seems like the mushrooms would put you into connection with a global brain that was focusing on the same topics over and over again. Tripping became boring for me because it was the same thing over and over, no matter who I was with or where I was I could feel it coming.. the same stupid dialogue I've heard over and over again which I'm sure is great for the first timers and people who haven't had much experience, but after some of the amazing things I'd seen and experienced when I first started eating mushrooms, I just couldn't handle the mundane and typical conversations and topics anymore.
If you even have a remote idea of what I'm saying I'll give you a +5 rating

I know exactly what you mean. The thing is, it bugs me out now. When I hear people repeat those words I feel like I'm embarassed or something, and I have no idea why. For instance...I'll be peaking and someone next to me starts saying, "What's life.." and begins that dialogue, it sends me right back to when I used to be like that.

I understand what you mean. Jung had his theories about it. Edgar Casey called it the Akashic records.

its the same thing if u trip twice in a week the second time its nowhere near as good even if you up the dose. you already know what youre thinking and you were still thinking it from last time. well in my experience.

I don't trip very often at all anymore. My most recent trip was on 2C-I, after not having tripped on any substance for a good 5 months. It still bugs me out to hear that dialogue nonetheless.

there are many more levels. noobs kind of make me giggle.
i think all that stuff is hardwired into the brain, i don't think it comes from psychedelics in particular, hence the similarity bettween religion/philosophy/psychedelics.
journy of the soul and all that.
i went to a rainbow gathering, a minor one. the highlight of my week was all the kind of drugged up kids sitting around the campfire discussing typical drug conversations. i get fed up and start mentioning time manipulation/behind the scenes guardians of exsistence and they begin cracking jokes at me. then this one old hippy guy (like late fourties) starts talking with me about it in what would sound like gibberish to most poeple. all the younger kids looked kind of spooked.

i think he was reffering to jung's idea of the collective unconscious? not to mushrooms in particular.

that sound right man truth be told
In studying the history of the human mind one is impressed again and again by the fact that the growth of the mind is the widening of the range of consciousness, and that each step forward has been a most painful and laborious achievement. One could almost say that nothing is more hateful to man than to give up even a particle of his unconsciousness. Ask those who have tried to introduce a new idea!

I always feel connected somehow to people when I am on mushrooms... and I know they are too... but they are on the other side of town, the city or even the country.
Because I know they are feeling what I am feeling right at that moment... and we are all under the very same moon.

I think you tripped too much... shrooms have a particular way to work in you, every substance has specific effects it is easy to talk about it and it even makes people feel better.
I love the "dialogue" man... "what life is..." i luv to listen people with different ideas, even if the dialogue topic is the same the circumstances will always make it different. I love to trip with noobs and introduce them to what i have learned it feels kinda good and well what else can you talk while high on psychedelics, im sure there are as many topics as in these forums and i asume you are capable of finding similarity.
I really don't know what else to say but feel like saying something more @_@ .... i guess i just don't feel ok with the expericenced tripper superiority thing... if you really think you got enough of it i think the reason is in you, if you really feel like you can talk about something better why not instruct your fellow trippers with your ideas maybe this way you can even motivate competition and who knows one of these days they might come with a very intereseting trip dialogue besides life, destiny, mind, reality, universe, and ll that boring crap.
peace

I'm not trying to make it sound like a superiority type thing, it just gets mundane seeing the same story played out every time I try to induce a trip like the kind I used to have.
It's not something that's bothered me lately, I haven't tripped for almost a year now, even aquired mushrooms and then just had them sitting around until I'd let a friend or my girlfriend eat them. I'm hoping by the time I want to trip again things will be... new I guess.

Have you seen Waking Life? Ethan Hawke has a cool monologue (I know that's not the right word) where he talks about collective consciousness, and how if information is out there people all over the world can grab for it.

Yeah I've seen it, it's not really my favorite movie but I enjoyed some parts. I believe that I remember the particular scene, but many of the other scenes irritated me (Yes I'll argue with my TV).
I'll admit I do need to give that movie another watching, it's been a bit and my mind may have opened a bit more to the "suggestions" in Waking Life.
As for the collective conciousness, I'll admit that I've had some interesting experiences regarding that, and as much as I believe it is possible, even probable, that doesn't explain to me why certain psychedelics would help you "tap in" to that conciousness. But ah well, this is what I'm going to college to study in a way or another, so I might have all different views in the near future.

I have no idea about all your experiences with drugs or I guess more specifically mushrooms but I always found that learning about different things gives my trips much more variety.
When I first started tripping I had little more education than high school and Christianity. My trips were mostly eye candy and with Christian based religious themes.
Than I got into college and started to get a small glimpse of the big picture of everything. Psychology and anthropology (just basic courses) made me realize the vast arrays of different experiences and beliefs of the human race. I began to do my own studying of different religions, cultures, and psychology. I began to research the psychedelic experience of people as well. All of this has greatly added much more food for thought during my trips. Classes like history and and physics also added more variety.
Learning about something different I feel will help give variety to your trips if you haven't done so already. Doing things different will as well, though I'm sure you done several different things already. If this doesn't help I'm sorry to hear that your mushroom adventures have lost their magic. I now trip maybe 6-8 a year on various substances so I don't lose the magic. To be honest I feel that my trips have lost the profoundity as well but they are still enjoyable. Guess I got to do some more research on something.

Also well in my case just because you don't believe that something is true doesn't mean you can't trip to that theme as if it was.

Well I think you hit the nail on the head pretty much. Those subjects (Psychology, Anthropology, Religions, etc) are all things that I've grown more and more interested in and have done more research into since I've starting taking psychedelics around 6 years ago. It seems like too much goes into my mind now, that I have too many concerns about the things that I know, the situations in politics that I come to understand, but that's getting off on a tangent.
These are the things I'm studying more of right now. Psychology, Chemistry, Journalism, and Religion. Who knows which path I'll follow most dilligently.
