Is it ok to birth cakes that aren't 100% colonized?

I've got 4 cakes left to birth this batch, 2 of them are about literally 98% colonized, the cakes are shrinking and the inside is becoming very moist. Is it ok to go ahead and dunk these and put them into the FC? They'll continue to colonize in the FC won't they?

i birthed 2 that werent fully colonized and just took a spoon and scooped out the uncolonized bits. both cakes recovered nicely and no contams. if you birth and let colonize in your FC you will most likely get contams.
