Amanita Muscaria

Im coming down from a trip right now so excuse any typing or grammar mistakes I make. Anyway, so I have been really interested in Amanitas (muscaria) for awhile. They seem so mysterious - there unpredictable trips, amazing appearance, and the fact they could've been the source of all religion sounds amazing to me. Anyone else feel this way? What are they like? It's to the point where I basically dream about them but make no attempts to get them . WEIRD.
Thats my rant sorry.
Also, can anyone answer this?
While tripping I came up with a mind blowing question: If the Universe means everything that is (basically), and it's a relatively accepted scientific theory that the universe is expanding then wtf is is EVERYTHING THAT IS expanding into? W/e its expanding into IS the universe. WTF! Any ideas?

Hehe...Amanita muscaria IS fly agaric.
Maybe the universe never expanded, maybe spacetime has just been shrinking and coalescing into localized points of density.
Maybe the universe has always been infinite, and the expanding theory is just a way to explain what we can observe in our localized piece of infinitum.
Either way, it's the dream of a butterfly. So who cares

technically, rather than expanding it could be said that we percieve that it is expanding. There is a set speed that information can travel at and it is the speed of light. There are various theories and models that allow for the breaking of this rule but so far, no percievable proof that it can be broken. given this, if the universe cam into existence at a certain point in time. the distance we can percieve is the amount of time that has passed multiplied by the speed of light. Hence, as time passes, more of the universe is able to be percieved. This causes the effect of a perceived expansion. This is a very simple explanation of this and there is other evidence that the amount of space in the shape that is the universe is increasing but to a degree, I feel that this accounts for a lot of this idea of the universe expanding.

The universe is endless. What is there without the universe?
Nothing? Who knows.

It is expanding into nothing dude its space like there is space between your face and the computer monitor. There is just air there but in outerspace there would be just space there.

Mike, he's stating that the SPACE it's expanding into is already the universe (the defintion of universe is "everything that is everywhere"). Therefore the only explaination is that since the perceivable border of the universe (as far as humans can see into the stars) is increasing every day with the advance of technology, and the fact that it takes more and more time for a beam of light travelling at the speed of light to get from the so-called "edge" of the "known" universe, that what we know of it is ever-expanding with each passing second... every time we search further, it takes more time for the light from the edge of the universe to reach out telescopes and minds...
all science aside, I think all of our thoughts come from the fringe of the universe... modest mouse puts it the best...
The stars are projectors, yeah, projecting our thoughts down to this planet earth.

Well Iamtheloser since everything in the universe was once one peace cause we do know for a fact that everything in this universe is spreading appart AKA expanding!!!!!! Then the light has already been here since the begining of the expansion meaning we can see everything already because it was all one clump.....

Apparently you lol if you know about it then why did you say one clump? That is what the hole big bang theory is about. It was one unstable peace of matter and then it Finlay lost control and blew up kinda like our suns.

I'm sorry, what was disturbing to me was that you admitted that this "big bang" idea, is a "theory" yet you speak of it as though it is proven fact....

You answered your own question. The universe is everything there is. Outside the universe is nothing. The universe is expanding into the nothing.

How do you know that there are not other "clumps" beyond our vastly limited vision? How do we know that was we are seeing is the "universe" and not just a tiny piece of it?

Very close and easier to understand Dr Geek but it isnt isnt just expanding into the nothing it also has a whole lot of nothing inbetween.
