Does anyone know how many cubic feet of air a cool mist puts out per minute?

it varies by brand/model. look at the manufacturer's website for that information.

Why do you ask???
Remember- if the output runs through hoses, then the hose capcity may be the limiting/determining factor.
I'd take a SWAG and say 50CFM for most models i've seen. (not factoring in hoses)

I'm curious because I'm thinking about getting a digital timer. I should have mentioned it's a Vics Cool Mist...
It's not criticaly importaint, I'm just wanting to maximize time between refilling the cool mist. I know that running a cool mist 24/7 can be overkill, especially if the grow chamber is smaller than a martha and/or the chamber is sealed.
I've ran a cool mist 24/7 in a sealed chamber before. The substrate was fine, but the RH was too high for shrooms to develop properly. The Vics website doesn't list CFM, though they have an 800 number I can call.

Get a large plastic bag and calculate the cubic feet of space in the bag, then time how long it takes the cool mist to fill the bag with air. RR

Plus if it's a brand new CMH, it takes a while for it to start working real well. Take for instance the Kaz 1800 dynamist CMH. I bought it about a month ago, and I could only achieve 70% humidity in the MSC. Now after a month of continuous use, I'm getting 80%. Now I'm thinking that's probably as good as it's going to get. They tell you in the instructions that there is quite a long break-in period.

Cool, thanks. That would actually be better since I'll be measuring the actual airflow from the modified setup as opposed to a whitesheet.

I'm not sure what a CMH is, but the Kaz 1800 dynamist is not the right type to use for mycology. They can't get over 70% to at most 75%, plus they are bacteria factories. You want the spinning impeller type as has been pointed out in numerous threads. Mine runs only 30 seconds at a time to maintain 95% humidity. RR

CMH stands for Cool Mist Humidifier. Hmmmm......maybe that's why I'm not getting above 80% humidity!!!!! Thanks for the heads up RR!

Let's can the abbreviations. I believe I was mistaken about the kaz humidifier. It appears to have the spinning disk after all. I keep mine on a shelf inside the greenhouse and it only needs to run for a few seconds every few minutes to keep the proper humidity. RR
