Why don't the newscasters cry when they read about people who die?

Well... here it is. I went away... and here I am again. I am pretty sure I will go away for another while, but first I thought I should share...
CherryBom made a post about Jack Johnson. I love him too. And if you do as well, you may recognize the subject of this thread as a line from one of his songs.
It's a good question... but I am now a newscaster, so I think I might be qualified to answer it.
We do.
Not very often, mind you... but it happens.
I was reading "Canada Newswire" the other say, and some new audio came across... so I gave it a listen.
It was Lebanese woman in absolute panic and agony because her family... her entire family... kids, and husband had been blown up by either Hezbollah or Isreali militants. She was just a lost soul. In absolute pain.
And why did militants blow up her family? Oh... it was an accident. Write that one off as a mis-fire. Doesn't matter anyway... because that's not what this war is about.
Anyways...
Nice to make an appearance once in a while... I don't know a lot of you anymore... but I am sure you are all very nice people who would never blow up my family over something as stupid as what this war is about. Right?
Cease fire Monday. Hope for it...

I vote yes.
What does war accomplish?
The way I see it, nothing, so why do we go? Because our leaders don't like what someone else is doing.

The reason this war began is because 2 Isreali dudes were kidnapped.
Over 800 people died in the last 32 days because 2 PEOPLE were kidnapped.
Seems a little... what's the word??

Lovely to see you as well! And thank you! Things are good... very, very good!
But as for 'what I hear on the news'...
Unless you've been to Tyre, Beiruit, Lebanon, Quana or any such places... how do you know what the truth is?
And wow... this poll is a lot closer than I thought it would be. Thought it would be pretty one sided. Very, very interesting.

the whole idea behind the way news reporters talk is to portray no real taking of side on whats happening. They report, for them to show emotion is killing the essence of all death involved in the industry of ones aspirations to become that one reporter who will represent this world on d-day spreading that hope in a non panicked and characteristic fashion giving hope and life to us all.

Let me rant. . This war needs to continue. It needs to be finished, otherwise, it will continue forever with occasional 'cease fires'. There is this idea that westerners seem to have, that you can just pull out of a war when it is handy. Countries in the middle-east don't have the same mentality about war as we do, they will continue to fight until it is all over. The United States of America no longer has the fortitude to complete a war, neither does Israel.

We may not have the same mentality about it... but if that be the case -- and especially if it's not our war...
Why are our troops over there? 7 Canadian men and women have died in the last 9 days, in Afghanistan and Lebanon. Not a big number -- no... but they died fighting someone else's war.
What's the sense in that?
And I don't even know how many American troops have died. What are they dying for? Why do our people... Canadians and Americans need to be over there?
How about this:

how isen't it accurate? and how does switching this thread to a poll about war have to do with somebody dying and a person rprsenting that body in a form that shows us the path one fell for that led him to such demise while keeping thir cool?

Seems a little... what's the word??

i was watching Alex Jones's TerrorStorm and they showed how some British SAS units staged a "terror" attack on some Iraqi police, and the police actually won the fight and arrested them though, then a British tank went and destroyed the station to break them out.
i dunno. it sucks delving into this stuff, I'd rather take the stories at surface value and think the reasons are as simple as they say they are, not the results of meddling.
but it does make you wonder why all this could happen over 2 soldiers?
the place is chomping at the bit to just go nuts in all out chaos all over that region.
and it makes me sad that people wil support it, or not care. it's actually hard to care we are so edesentisitzed to it. but you know, the world can only go at the pace of the people the world is trampling over to try to go at a better pace.
the karma defies imagination. it makes you just want to cave in and support war (support meaning, not be OPPOSED to it or be a PEACE activist)
but it's such a mess.
There's no reason for us to be doing this at all. 90% of the world just wants to get by and be left alone....... and perhaps 1% makes it hard for the rest of us.... the leaders and the politics. why divide? Why not unite instead? Whatever "you" want can be got without war... and if all you want is war, why are we letting you break us down, "we the people?" wtf.
