These mushrooms were found in sydney, NSW australia. The pictures give a good indication to what kind of habitat they're in*, they were found in a small valley, which is bushland, not dry but looks more like a rainforest (not actually a rainforest mind you). There's a 'park' which you can enter area through which is not densely wooded but has that stuff carpeting the floor, its basically a clearing where they plant things and it gets more densely vegetated as you go down. This park you enter through a lane between fences (of peoples houses) this small reserve has houses on one side and a highway and buildings on the other and it doesn't very long to walk through it from one side to the other and I'm not sure if all of the flora there is native. The gills of the mushroom are brown, they are yellowish/creamy coloured caps with slight orange/very light brown with the colour more concentrated towards the centre. I can give more information if needed, include more pictures in another post or pick one to take better pictures of it indoors and under the light. It looks about like cyanescens but I'm no expert am I.
* As in, what they're growing in on the ground. Pictures that show this well wouldn't fit so I'll put them in another post.

They are a Coprinus and not an active species. Keep looking.
