What should I do?

I have a salvia plant that looked amazing till the other day a caterpillar destroyed it, he ate most of the leaves, and the rest dropped I guess from the stress it received.
All thats left now is a foot long stem with one large leaf on the top and 2 new little shoots springing up. Its definitely not the prettiest thing ever.
Should I cut it down short and wait for it to develop again? Or would it even survive that? I can always try to make cuttings out of those pieces of stem.
Tell me what you think i should do!
Here is a before shot...

Here is the aftermath.

Ouch
I would just wait it out. Hopefully those 2 growth shoots will live. I don't want to tell you to try to clone it.

Higher humidity will get rid of the black edges on the leaves, and less watering. Your soil looks pretty wet. Misting is a great way to higher humidity, but then you have to water less. Got Good Drainage? Peace

yes drainage would be most important for a plant in your condition, if the stem starts to turn black you have a problem
