Iv made a honeywater LC a few days ago with my Cyanescens 'cambodia' syringe i got. I can see solid particles floating in the solution which im hoping is mycelium growth and not just sediments of the honey from sterilisation. Would WBS be a good spawn to inoculate? Its just that iv never seen it used with pans, only rye and what not. And am i right in saying that the grain shouldent be shaken as the mycelium is sensitive? Im planning on spawning 2 large tubs; 1 hpoo based and the other cpoo based. Im doing this to see which will output a higher yeild and also, of course, to get a healthy batch of tripping material

mycelium isnt going to look like solid particles. its white and fluffy looking and very hard to confuse for sediment from the honey

Well i can see small thin strands which looks kinda like mycelium but the bits are only about 2mm long. I'll see how it gets on.

WBS should work fine for spawn. Pan myc is notorious for stalling, so you should either use lots of LC or smaller amounts of spawn material in your jars/bags. The same thing goes for when you spawn to your tubs. The substrate shouldn't be very deep and you'll want to use a high spawn to substrate ratio if you are spawning to a large amount of bulk sub. Personally, I would do a few smaller tubs rather than a couple large ones.
You could also PM BlueHelix or Eontan or just search their posts for more info about Pans. They both know their shit when it comes to Pans. I'm not sure if Eontan is still around though.

thanks foo. Im gonna be doing 3-4 quart jars with my LC. My tubs are 14 X 10.5 X 9 inches so hopefully that much spawn would do 1 tub, depending on the amount of manure substrate though. I also just want to try pans with the monotub idea as i dont think iv seen anyone do it b4.
